Our Care Guide

Our silks, linens and swimwear are created to live as an essential in your wardrobe for many years to come.Discover our top tips of how to care for your ASCENO pieces so they are made to last.

SILK

Hand Wash or Dry Clean

Hand washing dry clean your silk are the best practice. Silk is a naturally delicate fabric and should be worn and washed with extra love and care. We recommend filling your sink or tub with lukewarm water and a small amount of delicate silk wash. Use your hands to gently clean the garments and make sure you rinse thoroughly. Avoid twisting or wringing the fabric and be sure not to use hot water as this treatment can harm the delicate fibers causing pulls.

Machine Wash

Can your silk be machine washed? The short answer is yes. While we only recommend hand washing, if you trust your machine's "delicate" or "hand wash" setting this is a good option if you don't have time to hand wash. Water should be tepid or cold. We recommend washing at no higher than 30c as anything hotter can make the fabric harden, become brittle and can tear more easily.

Air Dry Your Silks

Silk should be hung to air dry. Be sure you use soft hangers or padded hangers. Keep your silks away from direct heat and sunlight. Once dry, silk should be ironed using low heat or steamed to restore the sheen and softness to the fabric.

ORGANIC LINEN

Cool Wash or Dry Clean

Our linens can be dry cleaned, hand or machine washed on a delicate cycle only. Be sure to use mild detergent. We recommend using cold water with similar colours for best results. Cold water will also help to avoid colours fading.

Iron or Steam

We also recommend ironing or steaming our linens. If ironing linen it is best when the garment is damp. We recommend pressing straight out of the wash while it's still damp, or if the piece is already dry, dampen it using a spray bottle filled with water.

ORGANIC COTTON

Cool Wash or Dry Clean

Our cottons can be dry cleaned, hand or machine washed on a delicate cycle only. We recommend using cold water with similar colours for best results. Cold water will also help to avoid colours fading.

Iron, Steam or Tumble Dry

You have the flexibility to safely iron, steam, or tumble dry our organic cottons, provided you handle them with care throughout the process.

RECYCLED VISCOSE

Cool Wash or Dry Clean

Our recycled viscose can be dry cleaned, hand or machine washed. A warm-water hand-wash can shrink it, so we recommend cool wash with similar colours for best results. Turn your garment inside out and choose a gentle cycle.

Iron or Steam

We recommend ironing or steaming our viscoses. When ironing viscose it is best when the garment is inside out. Speed up the drying process by laying it flat in a well-ventilated place and make sure you keep it away from the tumble-dryer to avoid shrinkage.

SWIMWEAR

Hand Wash With Cold Water

Hand washing your swimwear is the best practice care for your items. We recommend hand washing with delicate wash in cool or cold water (no hotter than 30c). Be sure you rinse your swim items thoroughly after exposure to salt water or chlorine. To protect the colour, make sure you turn items inside out.

Air Dry

Do not ever tumble dry your swim. Leave your swim to air dry on a flat surface. A cool iron with a cloth over the pieces can be used if necessary.
